Hi Stella,

How are you? I believe you have already heard about my current situation from Lancy. What a coincidence and big surprise that we both are from Cultural Link. When I first knew that she is also from the Exchange Program, my first thought from my head was

"Oh Man, the exchange program does really nourish many future leaders in Hong Kong".

I really believe so. If it was not this exchange program, I would never have envisioned myself being a doctoral student right now, achieving a dream that I could never have thought of with only 13 points from HKCEE. My sister has also graduated this May and returned to Hong Kong to start the next page of her life. You are just the best, Miss Ma, truly from my heart. Like Lancy, I am also awarded with full tuition waive and assistantship as well for studying in this program. I am visiting Hong Kong during Christmas and collecting data for my research. So I believe I will come by and visit you, our big hero. Hopefully you would not be too busy to chat with me. You know, may be Lancy and I should collaborate a research to examine how exchange students' attitudes towards study and life have changed after their exchange year. I am sure we will see a big difference. Or simply just test on the confidence level would tell a lot.

Best Wishes
Bianca Ho

Dear Stella,

I would like to tell something wonderful and quite "unbelievable"!! I am on a listserv for international students in psychology. Today, a girl post a message on the listserv saying that she is from Hong Kong and studying Counseling Psychology in Southern Mississippi. You know I personally didn't know anybody from HK studying my degree. I was so excited and so emailed this girl right away to say hello. So, we started emailing each other for the next couple of hours. We found out that we were exchange students in the US!! Then, she called me tonight, and you know what.... haha I found out she joined CLC's (Cultural Link Centre) 1997-98 exchange program!!!!!! Her name is Bianca Ho and she went to Michigan!! Unbelievable, right!! I was sooooooo surprised by this!!!

Not only we are now in the same area of study, joined the same exchange program and knew you, but also we both live in Tuen Mun!!!! What a small world, isn't it!! I told her that I visited you very often. She is going back to HK for vacation this Christmas, so she may come to see you then! I will give her your office's new address. I still couldn't believe that I and Bianca will meet this way and we have so many things in common. She even told me that she applied for my school last year too¡K¡K.. somehow she decided to go to Southern Mississippi this year... otherwise, we could have joined the program in the same year and been cohorts.

See, CLC's alumni met in the US!! Hurray! I think it will be a wonderful story for you to tell propective students and old students, right? I am currently working hard on my thesis, and hopefully I can propose it by the end of this semester! Okay, I will stop here. Please say hi for me to Frances, Debbie, and Maria! Take care.

Lan-Sze
